
Amit Cohen
Amit Cohen is a writer/producer based in Los Angeles. Cohen created, wrote and executive produced the Israeli series False Flag, which Apple TV+ is now remaking. Together with Ron Leshem (creator of Euphoria, now remade by HBO), Cohen also created and co-wrote The Gordin Cell (adapted into English-language series Allegiance by NBC Universal) as well as Syrian civil war drama Fertile Crescent for Fremantle and Hulu, which is currently in post-production. Also currently in post-production is Cohen and Leshem’s Valley of Tears, which is Israel’s biggest-budget TV show.
Cohen is a graduate of the State Department’s Counter-Terrorism program for emerging leaders from all around the world. He has B.Sc. in Computer Science.
In years 2002-2012 Cohen worked as a Middle Eastern affairs correspondent and commentator for one of Israel’s most influential newspapers. He was mostly on the field, moving between Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Arab countries, covering major events such as the Palestinian Intifada and the “Arab Spring”. He was in daily contact with key figures in the Palestinian armed factions, Israeli and Palestinian politicians, military and intelligence officers, reporters and foreign diplomats.
